To understand the formalism of quantization, a succinct technical exposition from the genius. You submitted the following rating and review. The exposition is quite clear given its conciseness and the aridity of the subjectbut I think it could be helped by introducing the modern theory a.dirac abstract Lie algebras. The last chapter on QED is somehow outdated, due to his aspect on renormalization.

You may only notice some slight difference of style with more modern books, in the absence of drawings and sometimes in the notation most integration indices are not explicit, for instance. Rishikesh Pancholi rated it it was amazing Jan 12, The author of this concise, brilliant series lecturees lectures on mathematical methods in quantum mechanics was one of the shining intellects in the field, winning a Nobel prize in for his pioneering work in the quantum mechanics of the atom.

Fc Luffey rated it it was amazing Nov 30, Besides all that, although physics may not have come a long way since it was published, teaching techniques certainly have. This is priceless against the usual dullness of textbooks. Aug 25, Roberto Rigolin Pajl Lopes rated it really liked it.

If you somehow get through all this, you know more Quantum Physics than most Physics graduates. There aren’t any exercises as well, but nevertheless it is a very good book, well structured and very clear.

The two most common textbooks for a beginner which include exercises are “Quantum Mechanics” by Alastair Rae. This book is not yet featured on Listopia. You’ve successfully reported this review. The first, “The Hamiltonian Method,” is an introduction to visualizing quantum theory through the use of classical mechanics. I just read the first two lectures, which are the more elementary ones. See if you have enough points for this item.

From there, a good continuation point would be “Introduction to Elementary Particles” also by David Griffith.
